ADVANTAGES
Diligence
Computer is to perform repetitive jobs diligently. It means that computer in never bored with repetitive jobs.
Run for Long Period
A computer can operate without failure for long period of time, while a human has to be exhausted after a certain period of time.
Varity of Tasks
The computer is capable of performing a wide verity of tasks. Thus a computer could be useful at same time to people from all to gather different fields.
Automatic Operation
Computer can perform any number of operations in automation. The sequence of these operations is stored in memory as a program.
Decision making capability
It is true, that the computer cannot think, but a computer can take simple decisions. Such as 50 is greater than 30 or not. In the same way computer can decide that two values are equal or not.
DISADVANTAGES
Even through computer has many advantages, but it has few limitations too. Some limitations are listed below.
Inflexible
The computers are not flexible. For example to a human beings “addition of two numbers”, “summing up two numbers”, or “totaling of two numbers” means one and same thing. But computer is not so smart, it understand only the symbol “+” and nothing else.
Need Details
The computer need very detailed instruction. It means that each step must be instructed to perform, even it is very little and ignorable for human being.
Expensive Equipment and Maintenance
The computer and their peripherals device are much expensive than the equipment required for this equipment is varying costly.
More Staff
It is required to appoint computer personnel to operate computers. It increases the expenses of organization.
Loss of Data
In particular circumstances, stored data may be completely lost. It could be impossible to recover. There fore back up copies of latest data must be maintained.
